Palma Vecchio, born Jacopo Palma, also known as Jacopo Negretti, was a Venetian painter of the Italian High Renaissance. He is called Palma Vecchio in English and Palma il Vecchio in Italian ("Palma the Elder") to distinguish him from Palma il Giovane ("Palma the Younger"), his great-nephew, who was also a painter.

Portrait of a Young Woman Known as "La Bella" is an oil painting attributed to Palma Vecchio, and dated to around 1518 to 1520, in the collection of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid. It was formerly attributed to Titian. The sitter, shown half-length, has been said to possess a "high and aristocratic air" in her red mantle, holding a jewel-case in her left hand, and her face, with its finely chiselled features, is turned to the spectator.
